This website is the English edition of Moteur Nature, a French green car news web-magazine. Or maybe that was what it was supposed to be. But as we have a lot of localized content on Moteur Nature, which would be of little or no relevance to British or American readers, we’ve chosen to do something quite different, with a much stronger emphasis on marketing and communication.
My name’s Laurent J. Masson, I’m the founder and main editor of Moteur Nature, a website which I started in 2002, focusing on green transportation because hardly anyone else was doing that back then. I’m doing this with another editor and a professional webmaster to help with graphics, and make sure our website functions the way it should.
We are located in France. 3, rue de la Porte Neuve – 06130 Grasse – Our phone is (+33) 6.61.80.06.83, but the best way to contact us is via our contact form.
I’ve been writing since 1992 (before the Internet), and I’ve chosen now to focus on marketing, because that’s the key when it comes to green cars.
Do you know electric cars are more than an century old? Yet, they’re incredibly rare on the street. You can drive years without ever seeing one. Who drives an EV? Where to buy one? There’s been many tries, but with little success. I believe that manufacturing cars is only one part of the problem, and not necessarily the most difficult. General Motors has lost millions with electric cars in the nineties. Tesla Motors is losing money every month since it started business, and they don’t have a factory yet! Nissan has invested a lot in production facilities, they are also writing many press releases, but they’ve only sold a few thousands cars so far. I hope to write soon about electric cars being successful in the marketplace.
Besides this website, I also write for plugincars, which is totally dedicated to electric transportation. That makes it different from this website, where I write about all kinds of green cars, EVs, clean diesels or fuel cell cars running on hydrogen, to name a few technologies.
Note: I’m French, so my English is not what it should be sometimes. I’m working on that. Please, understand that this website is a work in progress.
Also, this website welcomes all English speaking readers, but I had to make choices relative to units, and I’ve chosen the American ones. If I write about money, I’ll use US dollars, and if I write about fuel consumption (MPG), I’ll use American gallons, not the imperial ones.
