President Barack Obama made a visit to the Compact Power battery plant in Holland, Mich. last week. A couple official pictures was released, and today, Chevrolet has uploaded the video above. The president Obama was very right to say that manufacturing jobs are coming back to the US, but he forgot to point out that the money is not. This factory will manufacture the battery packs of the Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in hybrid which goes on sale later this year in a few states, but this factory belongs to Compact Power, a subsidiary of korean giant LG Chem.
The Chevrolet Volt promises to be a great car, but when will a american hybrid get its batteries from a american company?
