General Motors is about to launch the Chevrolet Volt, the first mass-produced plug-in hybrid car. To get unbiased views on what it’s worth, GM invited some past customers to test drive it.

The former EV1 drivers invited seem to enjoy the car, and one says he will definitely be a customer. Good for GM, good for the economy and the environment as the Volt will reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Pity it took GM so many years after the demise of the EV1 to understand the effectiveness of electric drive.
